	LCA Dinner at the Athenaeum with Baroness Young was held on Thursday 19th November 2008 at The Athenaeum The LCA Dinner at the Athenaeum with Baroness Young took place at the Athenaeum on 19th November 2008. Amongst the guests were Mr John Black, President of the Royal College of Surgeons, Mr Richard Birks, President of the Association of Anaesthetists, Mr Christopher Welch, President of the HCSA and several other leading consultants, lawyers and senior executives from the independent sector. Baroness Young spoke eloquently about her role as Chairman of the Care Quality Commission, stressing throughout her support for the medical profession. She stated that the CQC would be looking at clinical outcomes as part of the regulatory function whilst admitting that some clinical matters did not lend themselves easily to measurement. back to previous page
